Vodafone has launched a new low-cost broadband plan to help people on low incomes. The £12-a-month service is the cheapest in the UK and offers download speeds of up to 38Mbps.
That makes it £3 a month cheaper than BT’s Home Essentials broadband.
Both plans are available to eligible customers, which means you’ll need to show you’re receiving benefits under the plan. registration process.
Vodafone’s plan is called Essentials Broadband, and you can get the service if you receive:
Job search allowance
Employment and Support Allowance
Payment for personal independence
Plus, if you’re an existing Vodafone customer who has already been identified as financially vulnerable, you can also get Essentials Broadband.
To apply, complete this online form. You will receive a confirmation email and a call from Vodafone to verify your eligibility. It may take up to a week after your request. The process involves a credit check.
Are there any additional charges for Vodafone Essentials Broadband?
There are no setup fees. And as far as we know, there are no delivery costs either, although we are awaiting confirmation from Vodafone on this.
Also note that this is a 12 month contract. You can continue for an additional 12 months, as long as you still receive one of the benefits listed above.
Can I also get a cheap mobile SIM card from Vodafone?
Yes. Vodafone offers a special VOXI For Now plan which usually costs £35 per month, but is reduced to £10 per month for anyone with the same benefits.
The six-month plan includes unlimited 5G data, plus unlimited minutes and texts. As it is not a contract, there is no credit check.
