MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace on Thursday attacked conservative political and media figures, accusing them of contributing to the turmoil in the country by pushing a “toxic stew of grievance and violent rhetoric.”
Wallace noted during a segment of his show that the Department of Homeland Security released a new bulletin this week that presents domestic violent extremists as the country’s greatest terrorist risk. The bulletin said that “both foreign and domestic threat actors” have “called for violence against elected officials, political representatives” and others.
âThis threat is emboldened and reinforced by a right-wing disinformation machine that includes members of Congress, people like the Arizona Republican. Wallace was referring to the criticism that erupted earlier this week after Gosar posted an edited anime video depicting him attacking Ocasio-Cortez and Biden. Lawmakers later said the video was “symbolic” of a struggle among policymakers over immigration and was “in no way intended to be a targeted attack” on Democrats.
On Thursday, the MSNBC host suggested that other right-wing media coverage was also responsible for the growing concern of federal officials over domestic violence.
âIt also includes right-wing media networks that glorify vigilantes, people like Kyle Rittenhouse, and provide millions of Americans with a constant supply of the toxic stew of grievance and violent rhetoric,â said Wallace, who was attached. press release at the George W. Bush White House.
Wallace went on to perform a series of clips of guest and guest segments on conservative news networks like Fox News and One America News that invoked rhetoric about revolutions.
The former Republican White House official turned cable news expert said the injection of “grievances” into conservative media programming “collides with the proliferation of guns in America.”
âGuys, the lights are always flashing red,â she said.
