AXA XL appoints Dane Mahoney as Global Head of Political Risk, Credit & Bond Risk Management

New Delhi, India: AXA XL has appointed Dane Mahoney as Global Head of Political Risk, Credit & Bond (PRCB) Risk Management. Based in New York, Mr. Mahoney will report to Rafael Docavo-Malvezzi, global underwriting director for PRCB and lead a team of global risk analysts in the Americas, Asia and the UK.

“With over a decade of work in the finance and insurance industries, Dane is a risk management expert and global market analyst. He is a strategic and analytical thinker and will be a caring partner to our colleagues in underwriting, actuarial and client contact in all regions where we operate, ”said Mr. Docavo-Malvezzi.

In this new global role, Mr. Mahoney will define, monitor and lead the risk appetite of the PRCB team as part of the execution and development of the group’s global underwriting strategy. He is also in charge of portfolio management and analysis of the entire portfolio of PRCB activities.

Mr. Mahoney began his tenure at AXA XL in 2013 as a Risk Analyst for Political Risks and Commercial Credit. During his tenure with the company, he helped make the global risk management team a leading practice in data, analysis and risk management. He graduated from the University of San Diego and holds an MA in International Relations from the London School of Economics.

AXA XL underwrites PRCB coverages with large organizations around the world. This class includes political risk insurance, credit insurance covering non-payment of debt obligations and providing commercial surety bonds worldwide.
